It is with great sadness to announce that a long-serving member, swimmer and coach of the club, Irene Smith (nee Samuels) passed away last Friday 13 May after a long illness, aged 79.
Irene was a national swimmer in the early 1950’s, but will be remembered by most as a coach who taught several generations of swimmers until she retired in 2008/9.
The funeral will be held at St Bernadette’s Church, Bowerham, Lancaster on Wednesday 25 May at 11.00am.
