Two Lancaster Water Polo members; Aaron Mason and Daniel Armstrong will be heading out to Malta, along with their Lancaster coach and head under 17’s England coach Zak Sly for a week water polo camp.
The Lancaster water polo players will be part of a 23 athlete squad who will spend around 32 hours training and playing some international games in the start of their preparation for their European Qualifiers in 2018.
The athletes will have an early start on Thursday, meeting at Manchester airport at 4.00am ready to fly out at 6.00. They will land around lunch time and have their first training session a couple hours later, including an evening game.
Coach Zak Sly said ” Going abroad is the best option to train for a week with the England squad. You can not get the same amount of pool time and high quality games in the UK.”
“The squad will have a hard week of training and competitions but working together as a squad will be a big benefit and take them one more step closer to the European Qualifiers.”
You can keep up to date with the Lancaster members and the rest of the England under 17’s squad on their Facebook Page.
