A fantastic team effort from Lancaster City Swimming and Water Polo Club at the Blackpool Rocks gala to record 99 Personal Bests from 127 events. A new record for the club and especially pleasing to see the younger age group and new club swimmers succeeding.
10 yr Elizabeth Wareing was in sensational form and never off the podium with 6 gold , 1 silver and a bronze from 9 events. No surprise that she also won the award for best 10 yr girl and achieved 6 PB`s.
Macy Evans had an excellent gala with a full set of PB`s from 12 events taking significant time off all her events.
Rhianna Sissons also had a great gala with a full set of PB`s from 9 events including taking a massive 24s off her 200m breaststroke time to finish 4th overall.
Inform 12-year-old Daniel Leach put in a series of great swims to win 2 Bronze medals and get 4 good PB`s with 9-year-old Jasmine Robson competing well to achieve 2 PB`s
Hannah Eaton was consistently quick over the weekend with 7 excellent PB`s from 8 races including many top 10 finishes.
Another regular visitor to the winners podium was Isaac Quarry with 2 Gold, a silver and bronze from 4 events taking 4s off his 100IM PB.
Marcus Robinson won bronze in the 200 backstroke with some excellent PB`s in the 50m fly and 100m free.
Connor Sissons got 4 PB`s from 5 events and was impressive in the 200m free taking nearly 7s off his previous best time.
Aidan Duffin had a great gala with 8 PB`s 3 silver and 2 bronze medals while Malachy Duffin was equally impressive with a Gold , Silver and Bronze medal to add to 8 PB`s and was never out of the top 10 in his races.
It was good to see 10 yr Anan Clarke achieving 4 PB`s in his events and was particularly impressive in the freestyle and backstroke.
Abbie Catlow and Charlotte Peacock both had good swims with several PB`s while Georgia Wilson achieved some great times and PB`s in her 4 events and was especially quick in the 50m freestyle. Emily Wilson had a series of great swims to achieve 5 excellent PB`s from 6 events with Katie Wilson getting some good times and PB`s in all her races.
Harry Shaw was in great form with 9 good PB`s, and multiple top 10 finishes from his 11 races. Amy Peacock won silver in the 200m Butterfly with 3 PB`s and Celina Hart had a great gala with excellent PB`s in all her events.
Overall a fantastic record breaking weekend for the Salt Ayre Club indicating a big improvement in swimming standards.
