2011 Success
National Junior Boys’ Water Polo Championships

In 2010 the junior boys regained their national title for the first time in 19 years. So last year Lancaster City wanted to make sure they kept hold of the title and not let it go. The lads were undefeated in reaching the finals and took on City of Manchester away at the Manchester Aquatic Centre.
When the game started it was very closely contested and neither side could dominate the game. This carried on all the way through the game with one team scoring and the other team equalising.
It wasn’t until the last couple of minutes of the game that Lancaster City slotted two balls past the City of Manchester s and kept up a strong defence to deny City of Manchester any further goals.
Lancaster City to win the game 9 – 7 and be crowned National Champions for the second consecutive year.

In the second quarter Lancaster City picked up the game and a strong Lancaster City defence only saw one goal get past them and Lancaster City hit back with three. Lancaster were one goal down at half time with 4 5.
By then end of the third period Lancaster City had equalised the score to 8 – 8 after Manchester had to change their defensive strategy.
