Lancaster City Juniors regained their National Title at the 2010 National Junior Water Polo Championships after 19 years. The 2010, 13 strong players did well to pull back from a  four goal down to beating  City of Birmingham 17 14. After 19 years, the trophy is back in the Lancaster trophy cabinet.

Lancaster City  retained their national title at the National Academy Water Polo Championships 2010. The team played well together and stormed through to the final. With a four hour rest the Lancaster team played Castlefordwho were as strong as Lancaster.  By full time the score was even on 5 -5. Lancaster knew they had to pick it up to get gold position. With this in mind Lancaster put 3 goals and only conceded 1.

Lancaster City  retained their national title at the British Championships 2010. This boast Lancasters’ magnificent ninth title in just eleven years. This year was even more special as Lancaster did this without 3 – 5 of their starting seven players. Scott Carpenter, Glen Robinson and Alex Parsonage were all in Australia playing the NWPL. Chris Hartley was also down under  missed the preliminary round and Colin Burgess missed the final game due to a dodgy decision by the ref in the semi – final.  Of course Lancaster could not of done all this if it was not for their Italian coach Alberto Bertolotti.

National League 2009

In 2009 Lancaster also retained their National League Title by a record margin of 11 points. This is Lancaster’s eleventh title in the past fourteen years. Lancaster received the National League Trophy at their home pool, with the players insisting that Coach Bertolotti receive the trophy as a mark of the players appreciation for the contribution that Alberto has made to re-establishing Lancaster as the dominant force in water polo in the UK.
