Lancaster girls ready for the European Finals
Thursday, July 15th, 2010
Two Lancaster water polo players have been selected for the GB Girls 93/4 European Finals in the Ukraine at the end of the month. The two are Katie Hesketh (pictured below) and Kathryn Routledge. Both girls have been selected after a rigorous process that has lasted most of the year and has involved attendance at many training camps throughout the country. They have recently returned from Hungary where the final European team was announced on Monday.
The girls have just flown to France to take part in a Four Nations tournament and will be back home for 3 days before flying off to the Ukraine on 22 July. Both girls are very glad to have been selected.
Katie said “It is an honour to be selected to play for GB and I would like to thank my Lancaster coaches Rycz Detko, Ron Winn, Steve Smith, Zak Sly and Gary Ellwood for all their help over the years. We hope that we do well.”
