Youths on their way to retain the title

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

Lancaster youths are well on their way to retaining the National ASA Championships….after comfortably winning all their games in the preliminary round (Group B) as follows:
Lancaster             11                           Cheltenham                       2
Hinckley               0                             Lancaster                           22
Lancaster             8                              City of Birmingham       2
(City of Sheffield opted out of the competition!)

The above results were not just down to the elite three or four players but very much due to the combined effort and skills of the whole team, under the guidance of coaches Ron Winn & Zak Sly.

The team (goals scored)
Kamil Plucinski (GK), Ben Walker (1), Noel Howson (8), James Alker (3), Elliot Trafford (7), Scott Sharpe (2), Luke Saul (2), Dominic Lock, Matthew Calvert (11), Andrew Burch and Sam Smith (7)

Lancaster and runners up City of Birmingham will join Group A winners Dunfermline and Watford on the 27th and 28th March at Manchester Aquatic Centre
