Dear Lancaster City,
As club representatives for teams within the top 2 divisions of the BWPL, I have the pleasure of informing you that there will be an open training session for potential Great Britain men’s team members held on the 8th of June at Bath University swimming pool. Please circulate this information to all suitable players within your clubs.
This training session is open to any members of your team who feel they have technical ability, fitness, commitment and desire to represent the Great Britain Men’s water polo team in the future. The day will start at 12.30pm with a registration period and a brief meeting to welcome the players. The first water session will start at 1pm. Players should come prepared for 2 x 2hr sessions between 1pm and 6.30pm and should be free to leave the facility by 7pm. Food and refreshments will be the responsibility of the players and will not be provided.
This will be an opportunity for players to show their desire to play for Great Britain and we welcome all players regardless of age or previous experience.
In order to register for this event please notify me by email (GBmenswaterpolo@gmail.com) by 12pm on the 3rd June.
If selected to continue as part of the GB men’s team, players will receive further information regarding training weekends on the 22nd/23rd June, 29th/30th June, along with competitions on the 4th -7th of July and the European Qualification Tournament on the 10th – 14th July.
Please attend this session on the 8th of June even if availability for the summer programme is limited as we are looking to build a squad not only for this summer but for the final phase of European Qualification in November and beyond.
I look forward to hearing from your players soon.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Kind regards Craig Figes
