Entries open from Sunday 8th October 2017 and close on Friday 10th November 2017

Gala Conditions

  1. Gala will be swum under ASA Laws and ASA Technical Rules.
  2. Gala will be held at Salt Ayre Pool on Sunday 10th December 2017.
  3. Gala start time will be 2.00pm warm up for 2.30pm start. There will be a 20 minute break approx 4.10 to 4.30pm.
  4. Swimmers must be fully paid up members of Lancaster City Amateur Swimming and Water Polo Club.
  5. All events will be swum in “integrated age groups” with seeding by submitted times.
  6. Medals will be awarded for the 100m individual medley (IM) event for the three fastest boys and girls at ages 8y, 9y, 10y, 11y, 12y, 13/14y and Open.
  7. Medals will be awarded for the 200m IM event for the three fastest boys and girls at ages 11y, 12y, 13/14y and Open.
  8. Medals will be awarded for the 100m events for the three fastest boys and girls at ages 10y, 11y, 12y, 13/14y and Open.
  9. Medals will be awarded for the 50m events for the three fastest boys and girls at ages 8y, 9y, 10y, 11y, 12y, 13/14y and Open.
  10. Medals will be awarded for the 25m events for the three fastest boys and girls at ages 6y, 7y and 8y.
  11. Medals will be awarded for the 18m event for the three fastest boys and girls at ages 5y and 6y.
  12. Swimmers can only enter either 100m IM or 200m IM – not both events.
  13. Swimmers aged 8y cannot enter 25m and 50m events of the same stroke. For example a swimmer cannot enter 25m freestyle and 50m freestyle. However they can enter 25m events and 50m events with different stokes for example 50m freestyle and 25m backstroke.
  14. Two trophies will be awarded. The Sheila Lynch Trophy will be awarded to the best 9 year old across the 50m events and 100m IM and held for 6 months or until the next club gala. The Torch Trophy will be awarded to the best 14 year old across the 50m events and 200m IM and held for 12 months. Other trophies will be awarded for the fastest girl and boy in selected 100m events and held for 12 months.
  15. The age of the swimmer is their age on 10th December 2017.
  16. Entry is on-line via the club web site and payment will be by PayPal.
  17. Cost per entry is £1.50 per event.
  18. Closing date for entries is Friday 10th November 2017 (Midnight).
  19. Late entries will not be accepted after the closing date. (This causes problems producing and checking the start lists and production of the programme).
  20. During the gala it will be the swimmer’s responsibility to report to the competitor stewards when the event is called.

 

The club gala will allow swimmers to compete in a variety of strokes. It will be licensed at Level 4. It will allow times for 50m and 100m events to be placed onto the British Swimming Rankings system. It may allow entry into Level 3 licensed meetings and County events. Swimmers should enter their best times on the entry form for the club gala. Swimmers without a time should enter N.T.S

Sheila Lynch Trophy – for 9 year olds (held for 6 months). Points will be awarded for the outcome of each 50m event and the 100m IM.  Points will be added together to determine the swimmer’s overall position and decide the award of the Trophy.

Torch Trophy – for 14 year olds (held for one year).  Points will be awarded for the outcome of each 50m event and the 200m IM. Points will be added together to determine the swimmer’s overall position and decide the award of the Trophy

Other trophies will be awarded for the overall fastest boy and girl swimmers in selected 100m events.
