Championship Team Performance from Lancaster Swimmers

Lancaster City Swimming and Water Polo Club swimmers competed in Manchester against the counties best to achieve a record number of Championship final qualifications and personal best performances. Team swimmers recorded PB`s in half of all events contested and won through to 6 finals from the qualifying heats. Robin Austin excelled to qualify for 3 finals finishing 4th in the 100m breaststroke and 5th in the 50m butterfly. Rio Quarry was outstanding in his 2 county finals finishing 3rd in the county in the 100m breaststroke as well as 3rd in the 100m breaststroke recording 2 exceptional PB`s for these events. He also swam the 50m freestyle in a little over 28s for another big PB. Isaac Quarry swam brilliantly in his 50m breaststroke final to record a PB and finish 5th fastest in the county. He achieved a good PB in the 50 freestyle as well. Toby Easton got a good PB in the 50m freestyle and advanced well up the county rankings with his time. Abbie Catlow got a great PB in the 50m freestyle and also moved up the county rankings. Elizabeth Wareing achieved 4 PB`s in her 7 events taking a huge 3s off her 200Im time. Daniel Leach performed really well to get 2 big PB`s off his 50m fly and 50m freestyle times to finish 11th and 17th in the county. It was good to see Alex Bradley in form with good PB`s in the 100 and 50 freestyle events as well as Amelia Sykes getting a good PB in the 200IM and finishing well up the county rankings in her other events. Macy Evans and Hannah Eaton had great swims in the 200Im and 200 breaststroke and Amy Shaw showed good form in her breaststroke events with a 1s PB in the 50 breaststroke. Overall and excellent championship for the Salt Ayre Club.
