Membership

Potential members must first be assessed by one of our coaches who will then make recommendations for the correct training programme or offer advice for swimmers and water polo players who are not ready to join a competitive club. Upon joining, members are required to pay an annual membership fee which is currently £29 for those in the ‘learn to swim’ programme and £47 for competitive swimmers. This includes membership to the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) which the club will arrange. Additionally, there is a monthly subscription which ranges from £10 to £29 per month depending on the sessions attended.
JOIN US:
We are primarily a competitive club looking to develop and progress swimmers and water polo with existing swimming and water polo skills; however, we do offer a Learn to Swim and mini polo for 5 to 7 year olds who are confident in the water. If you are thinking of joining us, contact our head coach (or one of the poolside staff at any of the sessions). You will be invited to attend an appropriate session as a ‘try-out’. During this first session, one of our coaches will undertake an initial assessment to decide which training session would be most suited to your ability or to offer advice if you require further aquatic skills before joining a competitive club. We aim to be friendly and relaxed but we are also competitive, with a focus on helping each swimmer and water polo player to develop their ability to the fullest in all the main strokes and skills.
If you would like more information, contact us by e-mail: info@laswpc.com or telephone the head swimming coach, Andy Daykin, 07774 483595. Alternatively, come and watch a session and discuss your interest with any of our coaches on poolside.
