About Us
The Club
Lancaster City Amateur Swimming and Water Polo Club was established in 1889 and is based at Salt Ayre Sports Centre, Lancaster. Lancaster is only a small city, yet it’s one of the most well known named clubs in the country.
Our senior water polo team holds eleven National champions titles in the past fifteen years and the most successful side ever in the history of the British Championships after securing a record breaking nine titles in the past eleven years.
Location
The club is based at Salt Ayre Sports Centre. We recently have been using Lancaster University and plan to have more sessions there once the new pool is completed in summer 2011.
Membership
Potential members must first be assessed by one of our coaches who will then make recommendations for the correct training programme or offer advice for swimmers and water polo players who are not ready to join a competitive club. Upon joining, members are required to pay an annual membership fee which is currently £29 for those in the ‘learn to swim’ programme and £47 for competitive swimmers. This includes membership to the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association) which the club will arrange. Additionally, there is a monthly subscription which ranges from £10 to £29 per month depending on the sessions attended.
Committee
The Committee will held every second Wednesday of the month. The Committee shall consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary,Treasurer, Life members, Welfare Officer and 14 elected members all of whom must be members of the Club.
